A FESTIVAL FOR THE BEST OF ALL

Temperatures are rising and excitement is increasing right along with it. Yelm is offering a summer of awesome festivals to fill your summer days and nights!

PRAIRIE DAYS: JUNE 28-30

Summer officially kicks off in Yelm with Prairie Days, a three-day celebration of our city and its history. Prairie Days starts Friday, June 28, with a street dance in front of Yelm Community Center. Bring your dancing shoes, work up an appetite and grab dinner from one of the food trucks onsite. Thirsty? Don’t worry, the community center will be turned into a beer and wine garden for the evening.

Stick around Saturday morning and enjoy the traditional Prairie Days Parade, led by our Grand Marshal Tess Faughn. This parade will feature military vehicles, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, and school groups. The parade, starting at 9:30, will run from the corner of Yelm Ave & Tahoma Blvd, down Yelm Ave, where it will end at the middle school.

After the parade, head over to Yelm City Park for a full day of free family fun! Many local organizations have teamed together to turn the park into a festival of fun. Try your hand at rock climbing, get your face painted, enjoy live music, enter the pie baking contest, or just enjoy the food trucks.

NISQUALLY VALLEY BBQ RALLY: JULY 6

Stick around Yelm the next weekend for the Nisqually Valley BBQ Rally, a one day event revolving around all things barbecue. Starting at 11 am on July 6th at Yelm City Park, enjoy local barbecue and sweet treats from The Cattleman, Steele Barrel BBQ, and Masonry Café, among others.

Want to get in on the action? Enter the Amateur Andy/Andie competition. Compete for bragging rights and sweet prizes in any category. Looking for something a little sweeter? Sign up for the pie eating contest, sponsored by America’s Credit Union.

Shop with local vendors, who will be onsite with handmade knives, bbq sauce, spices, and so much more!

Check out the mainstage, where bands will be entertaining the crowd all day. Hang out in the beer garden and enjoy the tunes, ride the mechanical bull, and pose in front of the photo backdrops. Make sure you #nisquallyvalleybbqrally2019 to share your memories!

JAZZ IN THE PARK: AUGUST 3 & 4

Kick up your dancing shoes for the 3rd annual Jazz in the Park event. Grab a glass of wine from the wine & beer garden and enjoy twilight at Yelm City Park as the sounds of smooth jazz fill the air. Feeling inspired by the music? Head over to the dance floor and strut your stuff.

All that dancing get your appetite up? Swing over to one of the food vendors that will be on site to curb your cravings.

Yelm has so many great activities, events, and festivals to keep busy this summer. Make sure to mark your calendar and get in on the fun!
